Hi

Looking for insight from the community with their experience with either FNB or Nedbank as their primary business bank account.

Starting a new business and need to open an account. The best way to really find out about the banks as a business bank is it hopefully ask their customers... you.

They're all much of a muchness, frankly. People recommend their own bank. Over the years I've had business accounts at Nedbank and FNB. If you can, use the same bank as your personal account. Build up a relationship with your branch manager.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. I was at Nedbank the other day and obviously they will recommend themselves over the other bank. But his reason got me thinking which would be best. He said that Nedbank business department is far better suited to handling business needs.

Been with Standard Bank since I was 5 years old.
Never had any real issues with them with my business account except taking their time to do things on a few occasions and probably the most annoying thing in the last 10 years or more is your Manager changes quite often. Unsure the reason, one or two resigned I think, but its ridiculous, every 18 months. sometimes less, some new fellow comes to call on you. At the moment I could not tell you the name of my business accounts manager, however the Secretary is the same so I suppose its a case of she does all the work.

The last Manager who came to see me in June last year claimed they needed to get to know "us" their clients better and made notes about our business and needs, apparently this information will be stored for future reference and other managers perhaps. You would think that they would know that information by now, I suppose its in a file somewhere but not digitalised yet. We have had our business account since 1993 with credit card machines etc.

The only time I visit the Bank is if I need change or to collect a new card and the once in 3 year requirement for some paperwork.
Personally I think the Banks are all the same, take your pick amongst the big 4.
