Was busy browsing the Cell C website just now, when I came across some new info on the “Software Downloads” section under the Internet support section. Previously, I’ve only ever seen driver firmware downloads here, but today I see there’s info on a new connection manager for speed stick users. Here’s the link:
http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/page/support/desktop-software/2

and here’s a link to the download/installation guide: http://www.cellc.co.za/images/content/image/internet/connector-infographic02.jpg

Have any of you downloaded this connection manager and seen how it works and what it offers? I’m at work at the moment and haven’t had a chance to check it out…

unless it's a whiz bang update I'll stick with MDMA and the existing CellC dash

I downloaded the software and upgraded. Unfortunately it deletes your manual connections and ALL smses. So I just lost my CellC Rica sms, CellC Cell number and password SMS as well.

Thank you CellC :p pffffttt.

Removed all my drivers and modem software. Using mwcomm got everything plus more less problems. In fact no problems at all

Sweet, you can activate prepaid data vouchers & airtime through the new UI without adding/going through any USSd steps :D

New Dashboard

Hi All

I downloaded the new dashboard, and still experience disconnects like I use to....BUT now I cannot reconnect, the dashboard software and computer don't pick up the MF190 modem, and If I change USB ports it still doesn't pick it up.

Any fix to this?

Thanks

Its normally not the dashboard giving the problem but the drivers. Huwei release hotfixes with their drivers which the different providers dont take note off and just push out firmware updates to ensure people dont use other sims with their devices.

On Vodacom you can SMS ''RICA'' to 31050 to get RICA status SMS sent to your phone. Think it costs R1, but can't remember as I did so long time ago.
Cell C should have their own number, but wouldn't know what it is.

How come are their 2 installers in the Folder with same name just different dates modified.

2011/05/12 and
2011/05/23 - which is the right one to actually use.

Eish... I suppose the most up to date version would be your best bet :)
