Hi, very new to this so looking for advice.
I am signed up with webafrica using OpenServe infrastructure.
I bought a baobab mediamate with android lollipop. It has Kodi pre-loaded and i loaded exodus which i tested on my old wifi telkom router. it was very slow so didnt really use it. now that i want to stream kodi just is not responsive. the wifi connects with full signal strength. i cannot watch youtube or anything on exodus - it simply does not load.

The router i got with the webafrica installation is a Tp-link A833 with 2.4 / 5G.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Try loading Kodi onto a pc and see if it runs ok.

btw can you do Speedtest from your boabab just to make sure?

Have you tried updating kodi and exodus ? I'm fairly new to kodi and have a minix android box. the kodi installation that came with it doesn't work well for exodus, but installing the newest kodi from the play store and upgrading exodus solved most of the issues. Also, the info here http://www.yourkodi.com/exodus-update-thread/ might help.

Thank you. I have now deleted and reinstalled kodi 17.1. All worked well and then i started getting an error; "Source too slow." and got buffering. Then the show just stopped. Since then I havent been able to view any content? can't search, can't view by genre - not movies or tv shows. It's killing me. Speed tests are still between 6 and 20mb even though i am paying for a 40mb line. This is really a joke.

Connect the android box to your router via cable & test to see if you have the same problem.

We have a MyGica as well as a WD TV Live - wi-fi sucks on both of them, POE with cable & they are brilliant, no lag at all.
