Hi all

What would the guru's here recommend on a new ADSL line package and which is the best sub R200 ISP available.

What ADSL package / speed is sufficiant for general Internet use and to play games / fly online with voice?

I have seen on www.hellkom.co.za an ISP called Cybersmart that looks cheap, but would it be cheap and nasty? How is their service?

Also, how is Imaginet's service? I registered my website through them...

I'm looking for a starter package that would equal R500 or less TCO.

general internet use and play games?
So no downloading thru p2p or news groups and stuff right?

For general use, any ISP is fine. But for playing games, go for SAIX based ISP.
Cybersmart is the cheapest for 384k line, which is sufficient for what u want the net for and its SAIX based.
Webafrica has good services and awesome prepaid options, for incased ur capped. Though u wont be interested in their high end packages if u just gonna use it to play games.

Axxess have nice unshaped packages, best low latency stuff for playing games. Its like R99 for a gig or something. So maybe you can look at that.
If I were u, i would get me a 1gig unshaped account from axxes for gaming, and get a 2 gig shaped package from axxes or webafrica or imaginenet for other uses. U can try cybersmart but they have these dodgy policies about only allowed to use them and no other isps.

So yeah, hope this helps~
