Loadshedding can be automated using node-red and a compatible ESS system such as Victron venus os.
Here I am working on setting ESS to 75% battery charge as soon as loadshedding is detected. Usually it is at 35%.The Eskom web address is https://loadshedding.eskom.co.za/LoadShedding/GetStatus ESS controll doesn't connect reliably so it might be better to use Dbus access in a function node. Still working on that.
