Opening Sentence...

A new local website is aiming for become the South African Facebook for entrepreneurs.

Is that socially acceptable grammar?

Me kalps me jean pant right orf!
Okay .. i'll actually read the article.

A full membership is priced at R 129-00 per month and the free Internet access comprises of either a 500 MB of ADSL account or basic dial-up access.
Erm. Free?
That's right ... nowdays free means you pay for it.

And .. why are we advertising these blokes?

So i read all about it and it sounds like a good idea and then I try to find out if any other costs are involved, and I find nothing. I find FNB involved, but it's actually just a fnb advert.

Why do websites not spill the beans properly? They just expect you to register because of wishy washy words on an about page.

I want to know:
1 - how many comapnies are already registered, and who they are.
2 - how many people are already registered using the free option.
3 - What happens when I want to de-register.
4 - What's the privacy policy? I see already they post names on their front page. NOT NICE.
5 - If they're really offering "free" ADSL, then provide these details dammit, at least tell us who the ISP is.
6 - Give us examples of this "safe intercommunications" facility, and then explain how it's better than a normal forum.

I just don't feel like joining is a good idea, I get more than enough spam already.

I just give up with articles these days that are incorrect in the opening sentence.
Be it grammar or spelling or fact.

We all make mistakes - I may even have made one in this post (in which case, I am sure to be told!), but at times I cry at the state of journalism.

I smaak gratis video downloads, will it count towards my 500mb cap?

They're free .. but only if you don't use any bandwidth downloading them.
Not their fault though. :)

And .. you can download the clips without being a member.

For an Afrikaans guy, you speak the English language well.

Now its grammatically and stylistically correct too. (I'm a smart-ass. No need to tell me.).

This is the kind of gap that The Forum SA fills perfectly, and at absolutely no cost. We're trying to build a free (as in speech) site that business owners can ask questions, discuss issues and just generally get a better grip on what is going on with some of the legislation that we have to face.
