New MacBook Air prices in South Africa

Cheapest Air now almost R13,000? Bit much for 128GB and 11" I feel.

The new Macbook Airs are cheaper than the old ones in the US, I guess Core and the exchange rate screwed us over :(

This. Unfortunate that the exchange rate is so crappy.

I'm still getting one though, as soon as FNB make them available.

In the keynote they said the new ones would cost the same as the old ones. I guess that stuff doesnt translate to here.

Definitely based on the US dollar, the problem is as always even if the rand returns to 8:1 these prices won't decrease.

In the US the Air's are replaced/exchanged due to a Wi-Fi problem. Not a good idea to get one that is already in stock locally.

So happy with my 2012 11" Air. Not going to be getting rid of it anytime soon.

Think I paid R9400 after Discovery iStore discount.

New prices with Rand depreciation are just :wtf:

As nice as the Haswell battery life is .... no thanks. Will wait for the next "tick" update in 2014 hopefully with some more screen options.

For that money they can **** right off.

Make sell profit, do more sales.

definitely expensive, although there are value for your money, ;)

prices are  makes me wonder what the 'new' prices for a lot of mac products coming will be, :( I mean imagine what the revised prices of a retina mac pro will be :(

Even at the price, the increased battery life makes this extremely attractive, and I think Mavericks could add even more. Having a laptop that can go all day without a charge is a huge bonus! However, I think I'll wait and see what Apple do with the MacBook Pro with Retina before I pull the trigger.
