I know there already have been numerous posts on this subject but Im struggling to find a solution.

Current Setup

I currently live in a two bedroom flat so range has never been an issue. Im using the Mweb supplied Mweb Technicolor TG589VN V3 Modem.

It has served me well for the past two / three years and I would prefer something with a little more functionality. Im also sick of having people on my FON network, Im also convinced its having an affect on my speed.

My speed sits at around 13 / 14mb, I have no need for printer sharing etc. My xbox and Pi utilize two out of the 4 wired network connections.

I have two laptops, two phones, two apple tv's and a wireless IP camera that need to connect to the wireless connection.

Requirements

Dual Band 2.4GHz and 5GHz router.
ADSL connectivity (Rj-11 connection)
Slim and small size (wifi signal is not an issue)

Options

Connect my ADSL line to this http://www.takealot.com/zyxel-adsl2-1-port-ethernet-usb-gateway/PLID43683575 then purchase a Apple AirPort Express to connect to. Most of the devices that need to connect are apple based devices, so keeping the network as apple as possible would be nice.

Purchase this http://www.takealot.com/d-link-dsl-2740u-wireless-n-adsl2-4-port-wi-fi-router/PLID37016430

Anyone have any other suggestions? Or Options?

Ah,

I also hated the FON little router but never wanted to upgrade...

My Area finally got marked for Fiber Due July so i go a Router to go with the upgrade that is loaded with functionality... I got the ASUS AC5300 and cant wait...

Hated the MWEB thing coz you would see all these inactive wireless devices on it but had no management over it which sucked.. real bad and on ADSL you cant afford to let go...

I would recommend one of the asus ADSL Routers that is compatible with its app which allow you to instantly see who is using it and control them by putting them either in throttled usage groups on a per device basis or disable internet usage on a per device basis...

Asus has really been going the extra mile while providing simplicity but there are more complex alternatives if you want.

the rest comes down to budget.

@XenitXTD thanks for the feedback, I tried the Asus DSL-N14U but couldn't get it to connect for some reason.

Im keen on a dual band router as I suspect my MacBook will respond better the the 5GHz network.
