South Africa’s Black Management Forum (BMF) has expressed its disappointment at the appointment of Rob Shuter as MTN’s new chief executive officer.

So hiring the best guy for the job to run a multi-billion Rand company isn't good enough reason to hire a white guy?

Prior to this appointment, MTN had demonstrated exemplary leadership by successively having black CEOs,” Mthunzi added.

BMF, in its statement, further questioned why the MTN board of directors – with a “majority of black people and under black chairmanship” – would choose Shuter as CEO.

So it is not enough that they have had many black CEO's, and that most of their directors are black. MTN must never appoint a white person again? Maybe he is best qualified to save MTN after all their recent problems. They have a lot of problems and probably need someone experienced to try and turn things around. The BMF just shows how racist they are.
