Ok... well VoIP asside, can you please tell me or find out if P2P is allowed on the new Data package or will it be charged differently???

I personally don't see a problem with P2P.
I can't see why MTN would have an issue with it. That is where most people use their data anyway, I mean 1 movie = about 1GB....

This got me thinking last night.

Teamspeak in a manner of speaking is VOIP as well. However this is not for making idle chat. MTN DD

Reason I'm posting it on here is so everyone could see is the following question.

Could you find out if Teamspeak is falling under VOIP in relation to MTN policy or is it just data usage. Bear in mind that this is only for gaming servers anyway. If you could pls find out for me.

I'm just scared that once the VOIP monitoring starts if might show TS as voice packets and no way I'll be paying R 25 a MB for a game that I talk with my team.

Gladiator was also saying text-based IM was going to be charged at R25/MB, is this true?

it is R25/mb just checked the fine print again,
to quote the document "MTN will shape and profile traffic in order to more effectively utilize network resources."

Thank you Gladiator. - thank you for going to the trouble of finding the small print and coming back to us.

Now the question is - does this affect Voip only or not ?

Waiting to hear from MTN Data Dude

MTN currently have a voice and data tariff scheme

Anything transmitted through the network will either be seen as voice or data and the tariff will be charged at the effective rate

AFAIK it's an MTNSP / MTN pre-paid promo

Hi, Autopage is loading the 500Mbyte databundle for me from my next billing date (17March). They knew all about the new databundles announced.

If they can do this, then other MTN SPs should be able to do it too...?

I only work for MTNSP not the MTN group like MTN DD

Isn't the 500MB bundle one of the standard options now whereas the free gig is a MTNSP-specific offer? Just a guess :)
