New online store offers boutique wines at great prices

Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI) has launched a new online shop, called The Wine Farmer, which promises South Africans family farm wines at “cellar door prices”.

The Wine Farmer currently lists the products of 10 wine farms on the website, with more farms to be added in the coming weeks.

Never heard of these wines. I understand that this is a clever bit of marketing for these unknown farms to try and get some exposure though.

Awesome initiative, buuuuut damn peeps, fix the page load time. 12-14 seconds is harsh. There are much better sliders to use, and you need to serve optimised images in WebP format.

Especially since there doesn't seem to be Malbec in that wine. And Malbec is a rather unique cultivar all on it's own.

The only red grape that also has red juice...for all the wine nerds out there.


Not a good start after advertising here on MyBB...they probably hoped we're a bunch of tech nerds that do not know any better.

I buy all my wine online and there are really good sites out there already....this is not one of them unfortunately.

That pricing really doesnt look like 4 million liters of surplus pricing.
Sure they probably cant afford to discount it heavily but many businesses are in the same position after lockdown and need to get some cash flow going.
I just dont see anything that looks impressive on the site.
