New phone around R4000 or cheaper

Looking for a new phone for around R4000 or cheaper to replace my Nexus 4. Its battery is losing touch and it doesn't last the day anymore.

Is the Nexus 5X the best option at the moment?

This is really one of those times where size doesn't really matter. It won't feel bigger. Doesn't feel bigger than my previous 5"

5.5" is big enough for any man... Once you go with 5.5" you won't be able to actually go to a smaller screen, it will feel weird an odd. For that price it is a really good deal and wish it was like that a month ago when I bought my wife one.

With these huge phones I'm worried about the size.

I'm really comfortable with the size of the Nexus 4, that's why I was looking at the Nexus 5X as it's a decent size and not toooooo big.
