New Polo Vivo vs. Hyundai i20 Fuel Usage (Avis rental query)

Good day,

I don't really post on mB, and don't know what this will acheive, but I was curious about the general fuel economy of these vehicles as I have recently rented 2 different vehicles (new Vivo and i20 Fluid Auto) from Avis and upon inspecting the invoices of both, the fuel usage stood out - of course affecting the total.

For both of these cars, I drove exactly the same trip, on 2 seperate days (262 and 258 km). However, the fuel used on the new Vivo is a mere 5.63 litres while the i20 used 27.13 litres. That amounts to about 2.15 L/100km and 10.51 L/100km, respectively.

Something seems to be wrong here.

Would anyone please be able to shed some light on the matter? Is there really such a difference in fuel economy between these cars or could it be a mistake on the invoice? See attached for invoice cut-outs.

*I hope this is allowed on this forum, otherwise please refer to alternative forum/site.

Thank you

Polo probably had an airlock or wasn’t filled up properly..
Always try and refuel the cars myself before returning to avoid these charges and billing mistakes..

When I rent a car for my own use, I fill up myself. When it is for work, I dont bother.
