All licencees need to zero rate education websites? That's going to be difficult. Surely she should have gazetted which websites these include like wikipedia. Without it that rule at the last minute before it is made legal is rather pointless.

This sounds more like she wants to join in on the Corona party but is rather clueless what to ask for..

I did notice my local Telkom shop was much busier that usual on Tuesday. I assume people were buying mobile packages for the lock in.

These ****ing ministers are now just pushing nonsense out on a power trip.

Hopefully they'll be hauled in front of the courts asap

All Internet sites operating within .zaDNA top level domain name must have a landing page with a visible link to www.sacoronavirus.co.za.

Does this mean every co.za site has to have that link?

Block my ecommerce and then command me to hot link to your site, **** right off!

My "site" is just multiple pages that are API endpoints, wonder if I'm breaking the rules since I display a blank page...

www.sacoronavirus.co.za.
Let me guess another wordpress websites that was developed for 20 million rand? Typical government. Some family member of the minister is coining it. It doesn't even have a country map split into regions like the elections map.

The pages are all static. Why even use wordpress then? Keep it static and host it free.

That wordpress website won't be able to handle the traffic if every za website has a link to it.

The social media links on the page link to the NHI's instagram and twitter social media pages.

I didn't even know the NHI has been made part of our law yet.

Or what?

As far as I know web development is a non-essential service, so everything is closed.

When is this supposed to be done and by whom?

These fukking muppets...

This is highly illegal and if contested in a court, will be laughed out of it.

My domain and my website is my personal property and cannot legally be hi-jacked for government propaganda.

She's fukking insane and their legal department must be schitting bricks...

BTW, who is responsible to make their clients aware about this? I hope they know that there may be implications should some rules be scrapped.

Oh well. Lekker country we are living in. Ministers say and do as they please with no accountability. The onus is on the providers.

Then again, the Disaster Management Act is still proving grounds. Courts are open.

They did order,

webmasters to add a landing page. Funny though, the company which 'developed' the content displayed on sacoronavirus.co.za link to themselves below. Got to love those crawlers.

Also, they add "All Rights Reserved", but there is no ownership indicated :X3: ECT Act, HELLO!?

As a WISP operator, I don't mind placing a hyperlink to the governmental website COVID-19. Only thing is we can't fight fake news. That cookie is away too big for us to do. Anyways what's the punishment if we don't actually get it up there is my concern for the guys that don't follow through. I know level 7 don't have it up yet or do they?!

The directions are called under regulation 10(8) under the Disaster Management Regulations:

Any Minister may issue and vary directions, as required, within his or her mandate, to address, prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19, from time to time, as may be required, including—

(a) disseminating information required for dealing with the national state of disaster;
(b) implementing emergency procurement procedures;
(c) taking any other steps that may be necessary to prevent an escalation of the national state of disaster, or to alleviate, contain and minimise the effects of the national state of disaster; or
(d) taking steps to facilitate international assistance.

Looking at the punishments related to the Act,

Offences and penalties 11.

(1) For purposes of regulation 3, any person who—
(a) convenes a gathering;
(b) permits more than 50 persons at premises where liquor is sold and consumed; or
(c) hinders, interferes with, or obstructs an enforcement officer in the exercise of his or her powers, or the performance of his or her duties in terms of these Regulations, is guilty of an offence and, on conviction, liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.

(2) A person is guilty of an offence if that person fails to comply with or contravenes the provisions of regulations 6 and 9 of these Regulations.
(3) A person convicted of an offence mentioned in subregulation (2) liable on conviction to a fine or to imprisonment not exceeding six months or to both a fine and imprisonment.
(4) Any person who intentionally misrepresents that he, she or any other person is infected with COVID-19 is guilty of an offence and on conviction liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.

(5) Any person who publishes any statement, through any medium, including social media, with the intention to deceive any other person about—
(a) COVID-19;
(b) COVID-19 infection status of any person; or
(c) any measure taken by the Government to address COVID-19, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.

(6) Any person who intentionally exposes another person to COVID-19 may be prosecuted for an offence, including assault, attempted murder or murder.

it doesn't seem to cover regulation 10, best to receive legal guidance on this matter.

However, I don't see how every website must cover this? They should have explicitly said available news websites, available blogs, etc.
