new SIM card not recognised by Huawei B315s-936

Good afternoon, my SIM card was delivered yesterday, purchased online from Rain. Shortly thereafter, email from Rain to say card was activated, and my profile on the website indicates that the card is active. Placed it into my Huawei B315w-936. Connects to wifi, but not the internet. Log into the router, comes up with http://192.168.8.1/html/nocard.html?index and the message "Insert a SIM card and restart your device". I did that but still no joy. Followed the process anyway of setting up by going to "Profile Management" on the router dashboard and and changing to Rain, but still not connecting. Icon top right hand corner of the page = "invalid card or no card".

Yesterday I typed a question for the bot on rain.co.za but was 189 in the queu, could not wait. Emailed, but no response yet.
Any suggestions for what to do next will be gratefully received, thank you.

They are extremely slow to reply to emails right now, your best bet would have been to wait in the queue, it takes a a while but at least someone will be able to help you. Have you tried inserting the SIM into your phone or another router perhaps.

Thanks Primo - after fiddling and fiddling ... it just started working! Problem solved!!

That may be it - I took the SIM card out of the Router and replaced it. That was it then, thanks.

The Huawei sim card slots are slightly too big for the cards or the cards are just too small, hence this problem. Spent hours trying to fix. Finally, I used a resin glue on the edges of the card let it dry and then using a nail file filed down the edges until the card fitted properly.
