Fiat Palio?
Distance doesn't look as great as in the new SA Jazz and also not as close to the door edge as the new SA Jazz.

I find it stupid that we are comparing 10 year+ Fiats with brand new 2015 Honda Jazzes.

The Palio just like many cars in the 80s and 90s had a metal protector around the keyhole to prevent key scratches on the car door. The new SA Jazz doesn't have this protector so the hole looks clumsy and out of place.

Mazda Sting 323 and S4

Yep at least it comes with free 1 year AA service if something goes wrong.
See post #14. AFAIK that car was discontinued like more than 10 years ago. Please don't derail this thread. You might be passionate about keys but that's not the point of this thread.

My mom has a Honda Civic and wants to upgrade this month to the new one so interested in the features.

The Jazz and the Civic might look the same from the front but the Civic doesn't have an ugly hole drilled in the door like the Jazz has which is what this thread is about.

I think the con in SA is they like to charge exorbitant prices for any extras with a commission of course.

Well we hadn't decided yet but seems like we will probably go for the Civic again as that hole is ugly

Fords... 323 rustler and rocam bantams.

There is usually a hard access lock somewhere.

The Renaults have the lhs door lock under a plastic pop off on the handle.

Suzuki Swift models have the key hidden in the remote fob. The door handle still has the keyhole (usually concealed). So if your battery dies or some or other malfuntion, slide the key out of the fob and you can get the car open.

Lol at the keyhole, I didn't even notice it before.
It's maybe because I was so disappointed about the other stuff Honda SA did to the Jazz that put me off completely from upgrading my wife's Jazz 2.

The SA Jazz 3 was rushed and Honda SA took shortcuts. I have no idea why though, it is not like it is competing with anything new from the competition... UK launch is only in summer 2015.

It still ships with the old tech engines (Jazz 2) and gearboxes. Apparently they will look at introducing the proper Jazz 3 engines to the SA market when the Civic Type R comes in.

Trim levels was also cut to keep prices +- at old outgoing models prices.

The new SA JAzz is not on the road yet. You can just preorder it and view cars on the showroom.

The previous version had the keyhole in the door handle so there is no way anyone could notice it.

Surely someone must have made that decision to make such a design change like moving the keyhole from the door handle to a clumsy drilled hole in the middle of the door. The question is who?

It is actually called the Honda Fit, but in some Scandinavian languages fit means the same as c|1t so that is why it is called the Jazz in European markets.

Very disappointed that barely none of the special features shown on youtube on the Civic or Jazz are in the SA versions.

They left out lane assist and the reverse camera plus the automatic boot opening if you drop the key in it and the digital radio and many more.

The only difference technology wise is the usb compared to the 2008 model in SA.
