I might consider moving back to Spotify for a while with this offer.

I moved over to a Tidal 3 month trial, and I can't fault their library. They have pretty much everything Spotify and more, but their playlists, algorithms and search engine is not as good.

Agree. I’ll probably give Spotify a shot but am kind of into the MQA side of things with my hardware. Time will tell

I wish you’d tell us how. Cant load the Spotify skill in Alexa because of location restrictions.
Linked mine in October without any problems. It's the main reason I ditched Apple Music.

Pretty sure I set it to max quality... perhaps I'll sign up for this promo so I can compare directly.
I can agree with the audio quality thing - I've got both (Garmin watch supports Spotify), and apple definitely sounds better (quality wise) - Spotify is also definitely more bass boosted across all of the music. Max quality enabled on Spotify.
However, I've found myself using Spotify more lately, because it's just better at suggesting new (and relevant to me) music

The thing about Spotify is that the sound quality is not great. MP3s were OK when disk space and bandwidth was an issue, but not so much in 2020. I much prefer a lossless format, and I've converted my (extensive) cd collection to flac.

Placebo effect there for 99% of the users, think if you are that affected by it you'd be better off carrying a gennie, set of amps and some half a bar Marantz speakers with you in order to be happy.

I was on Spotify for a year and then switched back to Apple Music - don't know if I'm imagining but the audio quality is SO much better.
I've never tried Apple Music, but the reason I left Spotify was that I was unimpressed with the sound quality.

I do have a reasonably good sound system.

But you don't use Spotify there do you? It's more meant for on the go or at the office and such, not at home, even at home I don't use it, still swear by Winamp.
I tried Spotify Premium for a month. I installed it onto my (linux) laptop using their snap package (the only time I've tried snaps) and connect it to either my main stereo system, or some speakers I have on the patio. It doesn't sound as good as the flacs I ripped from my CDs.

For a free alternative I also use YMusic(Android only).
You can also pay R24 once-off for an ad-free version.
It also links to your Youtube account and you don't have to pay monthly for Google's Youtube Music app.
Maybe some people find it useful.

That's why I use Tidal. Master and HiFi quality audio.
