New taxes on the cards for South Africa

Finance minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to give further clarity around South Africa's fiscal situation in his maiden Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) on Thursday, including the possibility of new taxes.

I think SA's biggest problematic Tax Gap is the corruption and incompetence, not the tax "avoidance" stuff.

We receive more than enough revenue, but too much of it is wasted/stolen.
Exactly.

But of course.. the piggies want to continue eating.

10000000% this!

I am sure we have more than enough funds to grow the economy but due to incompetence and corruption, lots of funds are wasted and never used for the correct purposes

Unless living in Woodhill Golf Estate and driving Maybachs and snazzy Beemers counts as "correct purposes"

At this rate they should just have everyone's entire salaries paid directly into SARS and then they dish out allowances/grants to the whole population as they see fit.

The rate taxes are introduced it will be sooner than later.
