I only get testy when someone keeps saying that I am wrong, when I know, for a fact that I am right. :)

But that's where you are wrong :p

Anyway, as long as it's not raining, I think most tyres will be fine once you get home, unless you live above the tyre fitment place. Tar is actually quite abrasive so the moulding compound should be gone within a few rotations of the tyre.
