New to fibre. Can I get some info?

Well, I just found out today that fibre is expected in my road/area "soon" (light purple on Openserve's webpage *yay*). I am, however, quite new to the idea of fibre and how to purchase it (as I never thought I would be able to get it where I'm from).

Would any fibre guroos out there please assist me in understanding:
-how long it will potentially take until I can purchase and use fibre if they are only in the process of installing in the road perpendicular to my own.
-whether or not it is a good idea to purchase a pre-order from an isp.
-if it is a good idea to preorder, what company would you suggest.
-what to know once fibre is officially "live" for me (installation etc.).

Been light purple for almost a year now (Okt last year). Thus anything from 2 months to 2 years.

Don't pre-order from an ISP. Most wont give you the ability due to it not being dark purple yet. When Fiber is eventually live then do research and price comparisons you will probably get a better deal later then now.

On the forum Cool Ideas seems to be a very good one. I am not with them but all the reviews etc seems like a good option
