New Top Gear – The Review

I watched the show. Enjoyed Le Blanc, but Evans is a twat. That stupid little hop he gives whilst wearing those desperate "make me look young" boots....jirre.

I've also been watching the latest Top Gear US and it is really good...IMO.

I liked Chris when The Iceman dropped him on that park bench

It’s Jaguar F-Pace vs Porsche Macan vs Merc GLC in Durban

It’s the question that has long puzzled mankind: what’s the best sporting SUV to deliver an A-list musician to the highest pub in Africa?

Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan will attempt to answer this question in the new episode of all-new TG TV, headed your way this Sunday.

The sporting SUVs in question? Count ‘em: Jaguar’s new F-Pace, the Porsche Macan, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC.

Their packages? Seasick Steve, Tinie Tempah and Sharleen Spiteri

They had a chance to add a hot woman to the cast, at least it would damper the other two a bit and you would be forced through their stupid segments to see the woman again....... but no

I watched the first episode this weekend, and I've got to say I didn't hate it. Evans isn't great and the scripted bit's (especially in the studio) seem a bit too obvious. To be fair, Clarkson and co. used to seem a bit obviously scripted too but they got away with it some how.

I think the major issue is that it's more of the same from guys that we don't quite like as much as the old guys. It might get better as Evans relaxes a [-]bit[/-] lot more and Le Blanc becomes more used to his role as a studio presenter.

It'll actually be cool to have two "Top Gears" to watch if Top Gear improves just a bit.

Sabine is kinda milfy and she's a better driver than 99.99% of men which makes her at least 30% hotter.

So I have done my research of those who watched 2302 & the feedback...(which we all know) is that Chris/E is failing the show big time...As per my comment from last week..I think you will fail to find to a person who will say he actually done a "good job". The *best* compliment he will get; if any; is "getting better".

Also:

"The audience for the latest episode of Top Gear dropped by more than a third, compared with last week's series debut.
An average of 2.8 million viewers tuned in to the second show of the new series on Sunday evening - 1.6 million fewer than the first episode.
Viewing peaked at 3.3 million just before the BBC Two show ended, overnight figures show.
Presenter Chris Evans said viewing figures would be higher when on-demand services were taken into account.
He tweeted: "Overnight television viewing figures for Top Gear have never been less relevant. Obviously some newspapers prefer to live in the past.
"The way Top Gear is being viewed is repositioning the way television is consumed. Last week 9 million viewers. This week we shall see.""

Sounds like he's just trying to fight to keep his job...because I don't see him improving. Maybe that's just my jealousy because he drives a McLaren :p

Watched both of the first two "new" TG episodes. I have to agree that Matt is waaaay better than I expected and should host the show. Chris is just too weak and wimpy to take seriously, wtf were they thinking?

As for the last episode in KZN. The game farm, I first thought could be Ithala, but then I noticed just too much sugar cane, and for one brief second in the background I could see the ocean... Still not sure exactly where that was shot.

I was hoping on the Sani run they would post times, I know that on my GS from the Gravel start to the SA border post took me about 15 minutes, can't recall how long for the top section. What was disappointing was how super smooth the pass was graded for them.... But I'll give them credit its still a very challenging pass with hectic gradients and switchbacks.

Overall, I enjoyed the show. Now I'll have two motoring shows to watch ... cant wait for the "Other TG"

Oh dear lord...this Evans prat has been shouting since the beginning of episode two, as well.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

They drove through Richmond just before they were showing leaving the tar road and going onto gravel, of course with editing their could have been hours of driving between the town and the gravel...

Tense bit when leblanc told the old chap not to drive anymore.

Episode 2 wasnt half bad, much better than episode 1
