What is funny is how they manufacturers all go on about how this and that change is done to reduce cost, and then the new model launches with a 15% higher RRP.

And don'd forget it is made in Durban FFS. It's not a European import with 80% duty on the factory gate price. Cash cow.

Price of everything in this country is ridiculous. In aus you can import just about anything under 1000aud with no gst or import fees at all. In SA, expect 14% vat, and an average of 15% tarrif. Oink oink.....

Seeing that it is basically a Hilux with an SUV shell, kinda makes sense...

Don't think I have ever encountered a Fourtuner driver who doesn't drive like an ass.

In that case you must not drive a lot.

Anyway prices for a basic fortuner are gone crazy....I don't think I want to even see what the current proper land cruiser and Prado prices look like!People buying on debt are messing the market up for us intelligent people who buy cash and what we can afford,as usual stupid human beings messing things up for the clever ones.

Same thing happening in the housing market.
