haha, I bet they'll take the positives

The true test of leadership is in a crisis - so far the DA are failing catastrophically to provide good clear leadership in this crisis.
I suggest capetonians keep a close eye on their premises for burst pipes. the COCT responsibilities stops in the street from where your supply is connected into your property
Much of the infrastructure is donkey years old and the pipes normally fumble at the connectors when sudden pressure hits
if a pipe burst on your erf you'll only get a suspicion of such when you get your utility bill at the end of the month. Maybe a nasty surprise of 15, 20k
My suggestion is that you check your meter on a daily basis. Make sure all taps are closed and nobody uses toilets in that moment you check the meter.
If the meter is static 100%, if it's moving you have a problem
Best way then is to get those guys out with the leak detection device. take it from there.
Water cut NOT pressure reduced.
[snip]
The council has not thought this through properly. Many people are going to find themselves with all sorts of problems.
Good advice. Here is what has already happened to someone I know living in CT.
Water cut NOT pressure reduced. Geyser vacuum breakers not correctly installed geyser continues to drain. Element still on . Element burns out.
This is a very sad state of affairs.

It is very difficult to reduce the pressure on a per-property basis with the existing infrastructure, since the existing pipes feed whole suburbs, with houses, tower-blocks, and shopping-malls. Fire-hydrants are also connected to the same supply. Expect some drama when there is no water to fight fires...
The City is so full of ****. I'm sure the biggest hurdle is the colour of the company owners.
So this is the PACs fault? South Africa was a British colony so I think we should be blaming the Brits for this...Led by the clueless former PAC member, De Lille. Hopefully when her term ends in 2021, the DA chooses a better mayoral candidate - and ideally someone who has only belonged to the DA. I suspect many former PAC members have become "DA" councilors during her term.
Her PAC tendencies are still alive...look at her re-naming De Waal drive to Philip Kgosana drive.

Monumental cock up by the DA, they said they'd have something up and running at the end of August...lol. They still don't have a plan.
Isn't bulk water supply the purview of the province? Ironic that you're blaming her PAC roots for her ineffectiveness while implying a DA mayor would have done better. The DA is a liberal party in case that escapes you.No...but just remember De Lille was in a previous life in the PAC. I think the DA made a huge mistake making her mayoral candidate (did it for the coloured vote / & agreement to wind up the Independent Democrats). Never really liked her. A more effective mayor could have planned for this, IMO.

I agree with your dislike of De Lille as I detest her too. However you can't blame the PAC, it's purely the DAs fault.No...but just remember De Lille was in a previous life in the PAC. Straight to the personal insults.Like Zille? :crylaugh:
Btw, do you still stay with your mom?

“We also create excess electricity from our technology which can be sold back to the (national) grid to support power supply. Our water plants operate off the grid.”
He said GrahamTek could deliver small to large-scale desalination and wastewater treatment plants to assist the country in long-term water-capacity building.
The company would finance, design, build and operate the plants, with no expenditure outlay or operational input from the government or municipality, he said.

Single source! Google and you will find very little world renowned about his company. Don't believe everything you read...
Interesting article, with no solutions though.
