A highly pregnant women was walking in Cape Town when her water broke. People saw her and immediately stoned her to death. They cannot allow anyone to waste water at the moment.

So it's not actually drinking water.

It's not from municipal potable supplies hence a grey area as the laws governing city boreholes use and sales are not entirely clear after all if it was cape Aquifier water then it's a finite supply which the city seeks to control
However there are plenty of farms outside the city with boreholes and springs speaking of which a spring like Caledon pushes out one million liters per day
We can expect to see increases in this activity particularly as the hospitality industry struggle to make pools and laundry facilities available for the Farang

There was a guy at my neighbour doing this yesterday. I called him in for a quote. He says he sourced the water from Stellenbosch. He's not allowed to charge for the water but delivery only. I need 36000l to top up and was quoted R3000.

Yip. Going to be a good way to make a quick buck. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guys just get it from a tap somewhere.

With the rain we had this week it should of filled a few pools, mine was overflowing, had to run it on waste.

saw a guy fill his pool across the road the other day by using a similar service, I need to contact these people too. I hope its not someone being dodgy and just getting it from the tap.

I was told you see these guys often at construction sites

Where do they get the water from if it is not from the tap, or the water serving the tap or a borehole?

SANDF to guard Cape Town water

Cape Town - The army is ready to deploy soldiers to protect water sources, water-carrying trucks and collection points if, as is expected, Cape Town’s supply runs out within the next six months.

Part of the army’s contingency plan also includes going off the water grid by drilling boreholes in the province.

The SANDF told Weekend Argus in an exclusive interview that people would in the near future line up with containers to collect their daily allocation at watering points, under the eye of soldiers and other law enforcement agencies.

The City of Cape Town subscribes to this scenario, having said if water isn’t used sparingly this situation would become a reality.

The city recently released a three-phase Critical Water Shortages Disaster Plan:

I must admit I wonder where these chaps who offer tanker loads of water come from.

R0.12c a litre? That's a good rate. Seeing as someone in the vicinity with a borehole wants charge me 30c a liter for "pumping costs".

think it's time we got our water from the squatter camps - since it's for free :whistling:

^ this. How much water is wasted from these taps running 24/7
How many people does one tap service?

Stop blaming the squatters, they're hardly the biggest offenders when one looks at population density. Blame the twits who promised us water.
