Today in Japan, Nintendo gave its Management Policy Briefing in which company President Satoru Iwata stated that the ship date announcement would be this September. More over, he said the Wii and the DS would be synchronized, which Shigeru Miyamoto broke to us at E3. While Iwata acknowledged that the Wii had low specs when compared to the PS3 and the Xbox 360, he noted that the function and the aim was totally different.

He went on to describe the virtual console and said that games would be downloadable at somewhere between 500 yen and 1,000 yen (approximately between US$4 and $8).

Nintendo plans to move six million consoles globally before April 1st, 2007, and Iwata pointed out that these units will be sold at a loss.

so classics at that price... mmm... it would have been nicer to get them in a bundle for cheaper though, but at least you can buy the one's you want and not get them all.

So it's about R30 per classic nintendo game, that's not bad seeing that's what we paid 10 years ago for those games, not too bad at all ....

Hehe, they have to increase the local retail price of the console with about 120%. Otherwise people aint gonna buy it because it is to cheap, so they assume it is ****.

actually the $5-$10 was for new virtual console titles.

<rant> . . . once again showing what a lack of respect for the law South Africans have . . . R30 is really fair for a first class older game. Fun is fun, reward the developers for their efforts. R30 for a classic game is a **** load more hours entertainment than the R50 you'll spend in an evening going to go watch some c@rp hollywood trash. </rant>

Lack of respect for the law from someone named doobi, dude the people who wrote those games won't get **** for them now, hell they probably all dead:p I am sure their was a lot of similar jibba jabba from the rich peeps who bought expensive replicated manuscripts when the printing press came out. Besides gamecube was unpiratable and games where hella expensive, wheres the love tokyo jokyo???

Show's point of reference, it is actually my name. Where's your mind? ;)

Actually, GC games were only expensive in South Africa, and relatively cheap overseas (~$30-$50 same price or less than PS2). The fault is once again with ZA scum capitalists, not the product.

Yeah it is, not the fact that they where unpiratable, but like doobi says they where a ripoff locally. I pumped far to much cash into expensive games that sucked. Don't get me wrong wii sounds great but R30 for some oldschool nintendo games?? Have you watched MacGuyver or thundercats lately?? Don't rune the memory, those games suck now

Ps soz doobs, I though u were a pothead
