New Zealand orders Telecom split
26 September 2007 at 06h26
Wellington - The New Zealand government on Wednesday ordered the country's dominant phone company Telecom to split into three units in a bid to level the playing field in the telecommunications industry.

Telecom, long accused of using its dominant position to stifle competition, will have to break up into wholesale, retail and network operations.

It will have to give competitors access to its network at the same price it will charge its own retail arm. The government said the split should be completed by March 2008.
.

Yeh. But we cannot even dream. Urgh.

Clear, concise and to the point - and a short time frame to boot.

Certainly not the methodology of Poison-Ivy and the Comrades at the Dept of Corruption!

As long as government holds on to its shares in Telkom, there will be nothing remotely close to whats being enforced in New Zealand.

The only thing that is being split in the DoC is the one collective brain cell that the entire department seem to share
