Hi Guy's

Like a lot of you I've been visiting the forum for quite some time and decided to join a couple of weeks ago. Never really had something to add or ask until now.

Why are there so many New Zealand Rugby supporter in Cape Town?

I moved to Cape Town a couple of years ago and have been to Newlands several times and noticed a lot of local people supporting any team from NZ.

But why still support them if Apartheid ended over 20 years ago? Maybe no one has told them that Apartheid is over.

It's probably because their lives are so terrible they try to associate themselves with "winners".

They did it on principle back then, and just like any team you've grown up with, you'll more than likely continue that support for the rest of your life...

^This

During apartheid non-whites weren't allowed to play, and therefore non-whites never saw the Springboks as representative of them, so they supported the next best option... and once you support a team it's tough to change so it's also a bit tough to blame them, although I'm being pretty diplomatic about it.
