Well they are following the textbook example of how to get hyperinflation each time.

I thought the Zimbos are smarter than this.

The people may be smart, but when your supreme leader is a military man, logic goes out the window...

Folks, gloating at our neighbours bad fortune does nothing for SA. Just means we will have more people flooding our borders and creating heightened tensions within SA.
No problem. Every so often, they are invited to leave by the locals.

Tiny flag guys tell me that rand was stronger than dollar at one stage. Does it mean those guys were smarter than muricans?

Parity with the rand last occurred in the late 1970s when the US experienced currency depreciation following the Vietnam War and the first oil price shock. At the time South Africa was a major gold exporter, and benefited from skyrocketing prices.

The situation has changed substantially since then, but we have never experienced hyperinflation.

P.S. I remember buying a copy of Scientific American for R1.25 when the cover price was $1.50. Now its more like R75 and $5.

Sadly Africa is going to exploited for a loooong time. Non-Africans see how African leaders exploit their own people for power and money and this makes it easy to manipulate and exploit the leaders. The Chinese know this and they appear to be exceptionally good at it.
Spot on!

failed african state, like Somalia
if Zim was near an ocean, we'd hear how they try to Hijack ships to sell the scrap metal or cargo.

So if people don't gloat we won't have people flooding our boarders?

Someone should alert Trump he doesn't need a wall

That is a very interesting explanation so thanks. Simple explanation is that SA peeps during 1948-1994 were too intelligent than Americans during same period. I am sure I have more votes than you so there.
