News server Authentication problem

Hi all.

I bought a IS account from webafrica. everything works, but I get authentication errors in Grabit.

What user name and password must I set? The one openweb provided me? (it fails with the name+pwd)

Try it without a username and password heheehe , leave it blank.

Configure 2 servers, news.isdsl.net and news.is.co.za if one fails, download from the other, I think the server is down at the moment, last I checked it was, this afternoon

Last question.

I can't connect using my local (.local) account. But when I use my .is account (international).. its connects and I can download. But when I use my local (.local) account, it does nothing.

Both these accounts authenticate. I can use both to browse (well local) I can see news24.

I'm confused as h3ll.

Yeah the news server is up to crap lately. (Assuming you're using grabit) If it doesn't connect then unmark the box and mark it again, keep retrying this way until it does connect. There's only a limited number of threads you can download simultaneously (mostly 4 but I've got 6 occasionally) so there's no point marking all 30 threads to download simultaneously.
