Glad I did, looks like an awesome site. It's age restriction isn't as harsh as MyBB's! :p

And I suppose you guys aren't allowed to invite a guy who forgot what he wanted to do at midnight, right?

I don't think so. It says sign ups are now closed. However, I have two invites available but there is no where to send one.

I have downloaded a movie from SAIX using GrabIt, but after it finished downloading it left 19 files( or articles, not sure) decoding. After several hours it is still doing the same thing, no change. How do I make the movie watchable???

Plz help!!!

PS: Btw, its my first download using the NZB way, so I'm still new and clueless

Try extracting it yourself with WinRAR.
Extract the first file in the serious, usually it ends with ".r00".

1)Exit what is doing the decoding.
2)Then try un-rar a/1 file from the directory they were all saved.

IF it fails:
1)Download & install Quickpar.
2)In the location with all the files, you will also see PAR2 files.Right Click on the SMALLEST (in size and name length).
3)Click open with.
4)Find where quickpar is saved or if there is a shortcut on your desktop you can use that. Then click it so it opens the file with that.
5) It will then download all the blocks it needs to un-rar.
6)Once it says 100%, in the bottom right corner it will say 'repair'. click that and then you are done.

If repair stays grey, you have to re download the missing files.

Damn, this thing is hard!!! sigh
Its just better coz it downloads locally and faster, but using a torrent is a lot easy! I have been doing what you told me to, but it kept on misplacing the articles; eventually I had to create a new folder for its downloads, temps and cache. Thats the only way I managed to get it ryt.

Now I just wanna know if it's possible to download two files at the same time, e.g. 2 movies. I tried downloading the movie that I have just managed to "assemble" with and episode of Smallvile, but I cant see any articles or folders for Smallville. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, am I?

PS: I have configured GrabIt to create a folder for each batch added; I thought that would work.

PCsToGo, Thanks a million!

its cool.... downloading simultaneous aint possible( AFAIK) plus it would end at the same time!

For smallville, how old is it? If you are using SAIX servers I think the retention is up to 180 days.

Nah, it's not that old... the episode I'm downloading aired about 5/6 weeks ago and I downloading it now. It will finish in about 2h 37m (384 line getting on av 36.4kB/s), and so I thought I could just line up one a few things so it downloads them after. But I don't want it creating folders where I cant find them. Should it not create another folder for a movie that I would add for it to download after Smallvile in the directory specified for downloads? I think it shoud.

Anyway, if it keeps misplacing things then I will just get them one-by-one. Thanks for the help :)

Try Altbinz if you're having trouble with Grabit. I've been using Grabit since I started ('cause Garyvdh recommended it:p) but apparently Altbinz does everything automatically and a lot easier.

I prefer to disable automatic unraring. I then delete all the Par2s from the batch and download as I need them. It's my preference, maybe something else will work for you!

But it should be able to line up a number of download batches, right? i.e Import one NZB, while it's busy getting the articles you import another so that when it's done with the first Batch it can start the second one and so forth... Cant Grab it do that without making me sweat searching for the other batches? Coz it has only managed to create the name of the 1st movie and the rest... nowhere to be seen . Or it's just me, didn't configure it properly

Anyways, I will just stick with this GrabIt coz I have managed to get one thing right, and then when I'm comfortable with it I might change to others.

Thanks a lot

I usually spend an hour importing nzbs then they download for a week and I unrar them on the weekend. So yes, you can import lots of nzbs. I don't know why you have to search for the files though!? Just do it anyway, the files will be on your PC and you can find and unrar them yourself.

Also, are you using WinXP?

Yes I'm running XP. I search for the folder where it should save the different batches following the 1st one, but then I couldn't find them; just the 1st movie I downloaded. Maybe it's because it was my first time. Should the files show on GrabIt when decoding? They stayed for hours decoding on my first attempt, and so I thought that had something to do with the files disappearing coz they hadn't finished and they were still in the Temp folder or somewhere.
Anyways, thanks for your help. I'm sure I wont take long to know my way around the NZBs world. This is just beginner's confusion.

EDIT: Do I have to use PeerBlock hen using NZBs? I was using Peerblock a few minutes ago and I couldn't connect to SAIX. Should I refrain from using it while GrabIt is running?

Ok, when I was on XP, sometimes to file names where too long so they couldn't be copied out of the cache. I believe the cache folder is C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\GrabIt\Temp. So just copy from there if they don't go into the correct folder.

The directory I posted could be wrong... just wrote it from memory.

It's just a thought, could be wrong. Also, I highly recommend you switch off auto-extraction. I once lost a whole download because of it (and my ignorance:eek:)

I still prefer Grabit, never really liked Altbinz. Just a matter of preference I guess.

Alt.binz does seem a bit awkward to me also. Started out with Grabit.
