When did News24 decide to whore itself out?

Geez, dunno if my ad-blocker is failing me, or if this is a new development, but I counted over 14 different ads on the main page alone!

Geez, first their reporting isn't first class, but the site was alright, and now that too has gone out die window.

I Vote this the post of the day! I completely forgot about the hosts file!

Now I just need to get it deployed via GPO.
Our sales reps get quite pissed when I implement stuff like that.
They don't understand when I say we are not selling to ourselves, they get even more angry when I tell them there is nothing I can do about it when 3'rd parties block adds.

He He, be THE man. Tell them who is really in control!

Jokes aside, I understand why there are ads, I even wanted to do a short course in marketing a while back. But going ape shït, like what's happened to News24 is unacceptable. I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe pay news sites really is the way forward?

Even MyBB makes extensive use of ads, but for the most part they are relevant, as it's a technology and IT forum, thus, the people who frequent it, have the same interests, then again wtf is mykiosk? - nevermind, Adblock made it go away.

The FNB ad on news24 was hectic. The one covering the entire page. Sort of framing the content. A bit much IMO.

Amazing how many people want the internet to be pay walled. :erm:

Without Ad revenue you wouldnt have sites to browse at all.
