Remember the school she opened up in SA exclusively for black women?

Sure is exclusive... exclusively racist

edit: ok i'm aware of the demographics of SA and that's a bit harsh, but what about underprivileged boys who could benefit, why only girls?

Oprah's almost on BTW... LOL that talk show's hilarious

Oprah is a racist - of course it gets ignored by the mainstream media [in the US] as it's frightfully PC and because you know, blacks can't be racists.

Remember the school she opened up in SA exclusively for black women?

Like theres such a need for adult literacy centres amongst white South African women.

What do you get if not a career politician? A hollywood one?
....
vote or no vote... I'll be back!

Actually, they should vote arnie, since he is the closest theyll get to a prez thats actually been to war (even if it was in the movies :D )
Reagan was an actor and many would argue he was one of the better recent presidents.

Am I alone on this one...
Oprah has not been involved in politics that much before, isn't she being a bit racist?
(supporting someone based mainly on race)
Where is your proof that she is supporting him based on race?

Pretty obvious really... He's no different from any other Pres. candidates, the same old political mumbo jumbo... blah this, blah that...
Besides a powerful figure such as Oprah should be non-biased

LOL at this article

Reagan, the one who supported Apartheid, refused to accept HIV-AIDS as a epidemic in the states, and who signed abortion laws, yet was against abortion ? - then again he probably couldn't remember what his policies were anyway ?

Where is your proof that she isn't?

cmon guys, what kind of a childish spat is this
she is, no she's not, she is, no she's not

would you call Jay Leno a racist for backing a white candidate ? so, maybe Oprah is backing Obama because he is black, maybe she is backing him because she sees him as a good candidate, whatever the case, there is no evidence that Oprah has acted in a particularly racist way

The school in SA - she came, saw a need, and decided to help, that's just what she does, in fact that's what most celebs do - eminem gives millions to inner city development - because as he says that's where he comes from - fifty cent does the same - Angelina Jolie donates much of her money to charity, and the list goes on and on

so if Jolie builds a retirement home - is she being ageist
if eminem sets up a music school in Soweto - is he being racist
if fifty cent decides to set up a foster care center in Danville - is he being classist ?

Wasn't he the one that basically scuppered the clean fuel push and tore down the solar panels on the white house?

Rightly or wrongly the guy was a popular President. Look at the landslide '84 election.

Too bad he's also probably largely responsible for the Bush legacy.

But conservatives voting in a women... that is only one step above a black man...

Personally I would love to see either Clinton, Obama or Rice win but I doubt any of them would even get the nomination....

I don't have any preference between Democrat and Republican I just wouldn't like to see another career politician like Bush become president.

(yes I am aware that Clinton and Rice are also career politicians)

I'm interested why you mentioned Rice. Could it be the fact that she is a black women makes her exempt from the flak that other members of the Bush administration take for their policies.

Don't want to see Clinton in the white house. She's an incendiary who goes out looking for media opportunities.

She could well be the worst president ever. Worse than her "hubby" or that peanut Carter. Now that is a scary thought.

I'm not confident about this Barak fellow. Going by the demorcrats and how they love to play the race card. It actually makes it harder for Barack because many Americans will just see this as another demorcrat using the race issue. It's funny how the Republicans are always painted by them as a "white rascist party" yet they have had two black people in the highest echelons of power. What's the highest position a black person has achieved under a demorcrat administration?

No doubt the democrat multi billion dollar propagander machine(ie: hollywood) will switch into gear for Barack with already Oprah getting in on the act. Has she been vocal about politics before?

While it is still early I'll stick with John McCain for Pres.

I have already said I am not for or against the republicans or democrats. Since I don't live in the USA and their policies are not really controlled by the president I recommended those three because it will make the staunch conservative **** themselves :)

To make a informed decision on who should be the next president of the US would take a lot of research and time. I couldn't really be that bothered.

Actually I think if Bush had the option to push a candidate it will definitely be Condy.

Found this website -

Oprah for President 2008

I guess since Jerry Springer was mayor, Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger both governors, and Ronald Reagan was President - it could be possible - her campaign "read a book, join a gym, and a makeover for everyone!!!!!"

besides in a poll in the states, just before the Kerry/Bush election - voters were shown pics of Al Gore, George Bush, **** Cheney and Martin Sheen of the West Wing and asked to id the President - a startling 80 percent chose Martin Sheen

You forgot Iran-Contra, the Savings and Loans bailout....

But on reflection, bwana suggested that he was one of the best of the recent American Presidents, which says a lot about other recent American Prezzers.
