Divorcees are so desperate you dont even need to scam them.

While that is true, I can not see myself being a "Judge Judy type boyfriend", as I like to call the one type of defendants often seen on there, and taking their money offered.

Why is it that an external intelligence organization has to come in to combat crime that is taking place on SA soil. Is our intelligence agencies that incompetent. My bad they would have been bribed and the docket would have been lost.
But did the crime take place on South African soil? If a victim is in the USA or US resources are being used?

It's always better when law enforcement partners in cyber crime. Without it, every requests for information from South Africa to the likes of Google, WhatsApp, Facebook etc would require an MLATs. Each MLAT is a six month process. If, during the investigation discovery process, more clues are uncovered that requires more information, the rinse and repeat process continues and takes much time. While this is happening, more people will be scammed, logs will be purged, evidence will get lost. Realistically your criminals would have a better chance of dying of old age than being arrested.

Considering the US initiated this, the perpetrators were using South Africa as a base to not only target US and ZA victims, it would be stupid to not cooperate. This drastically speeds up the evidence gathering process, even though it still takes a while to develop a case up to arrests, such as here.

Much the same info, except:
The arrests in South Africa come after US officials arrested 33 Black Axe members last month on similar offenses of romance scams and BEC fraud.

The arrests today also come a month after the FBI sent out a security alert on September 16 about an increase in romance scams across the US. At the time, the agency said it received more than 1,800 complaints about romance scams in the first seven months of 2021, with losses of more than $133 million.

According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Report for 2020, romance scams were the eighth most common form of cybercrime reported in the US last year, but the second in reported losses, with more than $600 million being reported stolen last year.

Drop them somewhere off Cape Town's coastline. About 10km out would be fine. Less criminals to worry about getting through our sketchy criminal system and back to freedom.

Was going to ask if they were near Parklands side.

The area has become know as a Nigerian "hot spot" over the years.

Yea parklands is a cesspool of Nigerians.

Won't buy or live there.

Tableview basically, gone to crap.

But then again so has most of SA.

I remember over 10 years ago, when Sea Point was a cesspool of Nigerians and Parklands was a sought-after suburb. Now it vice-versa. Same with many places in SA, so nothing's really changed.

FBI arrests notorious leaders of nigerian mafia. Two weeks from now, nigeria sends replacements as leaders were arrested. There is only one way to cut off the head of these 419 scammers, and that is to cut off their internet access in west africa. While these mofos have internet access, they will forever run their scams. Got one a while ago, before Hangouts went offline. He was trying to convince me that is is some rich white banking ceo. I video called him and the moron actually answered to reveal him living in absolute squalor, sitting outside a shack in nigeria. Even after I saw him, he still maintained that he is a rich white dude. The problem is that these morons are now moving to SA and getting fake passports here (the reason the UK introduced VISAs for SA citizens in 2010)to move out into the world. A LOT OF THEM operate out of our universities as they come here claiming to be students. The Vaal University of Technology is one such hotspot. I have traced a lot of them to the VUT about four years ago and alerted the VUT management and police, and nothing was done.

Because the Government does not appoint peoole on basis of merrit or intelligence, but on political allegiance, and let's face it, only absolute morons support the anc, so the anc is haooy to deploy those morons, because theg know that if the morons have to solit on each other, at least a few **** ups will happen, some paperwork will get lost, bribes will be paid, and morons will go free on technicalities. If you see the amount of applicants applying for government positions with fake paperwork, whether it be fake matric certficates, fake degrees or fake diplomas, you will shudder! In 2001 I worked for a company that sold copiers. We were accross the street of a college. So one day the Sowetan publish a add for about 1000 government jobs. Our receptionist was overwhelmed by the amount of requests to alter matric certificate scores, subjects and dates. Young people wanted he to fake university degrees. People with a snowballs chance in hell of getting a normal matric, were suddenly applying for director positions where degrees were required, and by the current looks of the Emfuleni municipality, I'd say a lot of them got employed there. In 2012, the Northern Provinces bar council put out a statement where they decried the fact that more than 50% of new law graduates are incapable of even writing their own names, and the majority of then cannot argue a legal case or do logical reasoning. We are ****ed.

Call Centre scams? If you google, there are regular raids & arrests being made. Pretty sure FBI/US authorities would be involved in information sharing there.
