Nintendo unveils new games to boost Switch sales

Nintendo Co. has unveiled 18 previously unannounced games as the company doubles down on software titles to revive slumping sales of the Switch console.

Among the most promising new games are Super Mario Maker 2, which will go on sale in June, and Zelda: Link’s Awakening slated for some time this year.

Nintendo is saying they desperately need games to appeal to more people? Why are you releasing your own stuff again? Maybe approach third parties? I mean how many times can you play Zelda or Mario?

Don't think that's the main feature. I saw a bunch of new stuff in there like Mario 3D World assets.

Overall I'm very happy with the games they showed off. Mario Maker 2, Zelda, DQ XI, Fire Emblem, Astral Chain, Hellblade, Unravel 2, Yoshi, Daemon X, Bloodstained, AC3.

The new Zelda looks so cool.

Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Unravel, Bloodstained, Box Boy, Daemon Ex Machina, Astral Chain, Links Awakening. Not to mention Luigi's Mansion, Pokemon and Town... Going to be an expensive year

They missed their target of 20 million consoles in 2018. But the holiday season was ridiculously good for them. It's really not accurate to say that sales are slumping.

Haha I’m on one of the DLC missions now - I’ve done two of the four side quests with the divine beasts but sitting in Haiti for the past two weeks so haven’t been able to touch it. That’s why I need a switch lol. Wii U too big to lug around
