Well they can't really cope with a third front, they're already battling in Iraq. As long as NK doesn't sell the nukes it won't even be that much of an issue.

Think all they really want is to be left alone. They just desperately need funds which is why they sell weapons systems, drugs, counterfeit currency etc. The US should just give them security guarantees and a few brown paper bags under the table so they don't feel the need to sell their nukes, better for everyone.

I dont see why the US should always be the one country to pay. Why doesnt a country like Saudi Arabia or China speak to these guys and tell them to stop their ****.

What a useless post, the USA has one of the largest economy's in the world and is the richest country in the world. Do you really think a bunch of camel toe jockey's gives money to the states?

True, but it seems like a lot of the problems in this situation are caused by the US. And if you want to be the world's only superpower then you have to step up.

Is that why the Saudi's kicked the US out of their military bases so there are now no US troops on Saudi soil? Which was incidentally one of Bin Laden's core demands, doesn't seem to have appeased him though.

A declaration of war huh? By who exactly? All the members of the UN? The security council? Please. NK are like a spoilt baby.

America is too scared to do anything, NKorea is not a push over like Iraq
The bully is going to be bullied

America's interest in NK is due to their allies. NK poses no threat to the US.

They are in a position of their own making. They could drop their **** and become and internationally accepted country like South Korea but they choose to be a pariah instead. They can only blame their leader.

Personally I think they should put full sanctions on NK as soon as possible.

I agree with your assesment of them, they're a despotic hellhole. But they've also got their back to the wall armed with nuclear launch codes so it's best to try and placate them.

Like Chamberlain tried to placate Hitler? There is no point in giving into their threats. Put full sanctions on them and let them starve.

If they starve the only option really, would be for them to go to war, If they cant feed their troops then they would have a revolution on their hands and all the current people in power would loose power by way of firing squad.

Different situation. They want to protect themselves from perceived threats, not invade anyone else. Ok they're selling the technology but make it very clear that if they do you'll blockade them or something.

Exactly, and Seoul's within artillery range of the DMZ. So the North fires on Seoul, US mobilises troops in support from Okinawa, calls for NATO help eg in Iraq and even more in Afghanistan because they're overextended, Tehran uses the opportunity to try and take out Tel Aviv while the US is busy elsewhere, the IDF starts bombing Iran as Syria and Hezbollah attack in support. China and Russia try to stay on the sidelines but China gets swamped by millions of refugees from the North. They actually just started building a new border fence after the test.

Ok so it's quite an apocalyptic scenario but how unlikely is it really considering the people involved. That's assuming Pyongyand doesn't use some form of nuke or even a crude terrorist-style radiological bomb which would make things infinitely worse.

Who will they go to war with? South Korea? America? China? Japan? They can't win. I'm pretty sure that, as mad as kim jong-il is, he wants to live.

Sanctions will force them to alter their stance or force a revolution like you say.

I do not think The USA can afford another "War" as Iraq and Afghanistan must have cost them several hundred Billion Dollars already and still counting.

They will attack South Korea seeing as they will need the stockpiles of food that is kept there and they will attack Japan with a nuke/s just because they can. There is no reason in madness, he's got enough underground bunkers where he can keep on living for many years.

There will be no place to hide if he attacks anyone. The only conclusion for a war started by NK will be his death and more then likely the devestation of the entire country.
