if you have been served you should ask the prosecutor for

the training certificates of the officers for the speed trap equipment
the calibration certificates of the speed trap equipment
the detailed specifications of the the speed trap equipment
survey certificate for the site etc.

you can work out a whole list of pitfalls for the prosecuting of speed fines from here:
https://arrivealive.co.za/Prosecuting-Guidelines-for-Speed-Measuring-Equipment

and then check if EVERYTHING was done by the book.
Usually it isn't done by the book ( at least if its a mobile speed trap; if it was a fixed one you could be screwed ) and you get the case thrown out.
Helped me when I was trapped at over 200km/h in a 120 zone.

i received one of these in feb this year, car in my moms name, didn't want to get her in trouble so i got the fine moved into my name, went to a prosecutor who told me nothing he can do until i receive a summons to court which i still haven't gotten, 93 in 60 zone.

i stress about it all the time cause i need a drivers license for my work, and they can revoke my license.

No they can't revoke your license, unless it was in an AARTO area and the fine comes with enough points to suspend your license.

Wait to actually be summonsed.

Then go tell the magistrate you are a student and don't have money and it's a first time offence and you now know you were wrong etc and all that and you'll probably get 50% off.

50% off what, is what's bothering me.. As there's no value. Generally speaking do you think I'll still be summoned? After 8 months?
