No clear suggestion that failure to pay old e-toll bill will result in punishment

This man destroyed future major feeway construction in SA without any feasible alt options. Its unlikely that we will see any new freeways in Gauteng in our life times. Etolling is a stock standard financial solution in the rest of modern counties, accpeted by their civilians. All of us was utterly misled by Outa.

Since you so smart:

How much of the fuel price is supposed to be for maintenance and building of roads?

You either dont know or you are trolling with this post mr roads engineer

What to do with your old e-toll bill

South African motorists with outstanding e-toll debt should not pay as there is no immediate clear benefit nor any suggestion that failure to pay will result in punishment.

That is according to recent feedback from the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse CEO Wayne Duvenage.
I had an unflattering and unprintable response, but it is safer in my head than on this platform.

Go to the Etol shops in the malls. Generally found in Menlyn, Kolonnade Mall etc.

The tag is R50 deposit. The R50 is loaded onto the tag to be used for toll fees.

You manage the balance and top up on the Sanral App.
You can top up with Card manually or set automatic top up.

I chose the prepaid option.
My main concern was will my past etoll debt be loaded on the tag. This did not happen.

I received a bill for a scooter that was on a flatbed tuck on the N3 South... Laughed and tossed it.

And then they have the cheek to tell you that it's your problem to sort it out and make representations etc if they have incorrectly billed you for someone else's numberplate.

Thanks. Went to the one in Menlyn. Agents were really helpful - even if the system was intermittently offline. Got my prepaid tags and good to go through the fast lane henceforth.

They're using good printers and A4 but rather save some eskoms power.
