No Dial Tone

I haven't been able to get a dial tone on my phone for the past two days. ADSL works fine.

Using standard Telkom provided ADSL Router Pots. Pots filter is fixed on the standard telephone line. Everything's connected properly.

I tried dialing from cell to home phone, it rings but nothing on the home handset.

Anyone experienced this too? Any ideas?

ps. Telkom ADSL Fault Line took up all my Cell C minutes for the month. Held on for 30+ minutes! They are now "investigating".

Sounds to me like your handset is stuffed, based on your posted symptoms. Get another handset (R99 at Game) and try it our first, before asking Telkrap for help...

I had the same problem previously, tested with another handset and the problem persisted. Phoned telkom, and turns out the adsl port and the line got switched somewhere at the exchange. This has happend 3 times to me so I bet you have the same thing.

Yep!

I confirmed last night that the handset was ok. Telkom techies came in this morning and confirmed that some tosser had inadvertently switched my phone line. Fixed now.
