OpenDNS didn't help me, it made local slower and intl still didn't work. Would my own DNS proxy fix this, like gregmcc suggests?

Oh ****, spellchecker needs intl. Appolgies in advance for any errors.

down in somerset west and ct

+1 Go to the Telkom shop in Strand. There is a lady called C....... speak to her about all downtime you experience. That woman hands in disputes and you get credited for all downtime. I know it does not solve the problem right now, but atleast you get some cash back. Works for me everytime. Pm me for name.

Doubtful, if the international link is at fault. I have a full DNS server and a caching one here and no international and some local. Our DNS is not even pulled from our ADSL connections, it is connected to a leased line which is working 100% okay.

Try connecting to http://209.85.229.103 (www.google.com), if that works then it is your DNS at fault. In my case it doesn't work all the time

It's definately not a DNS problem. I can't even ping opendns.

Access to certain sites come and go, but google.com's been down all morning.

So, like the Proteas, SAIX has dropped yet another cache. No wonder we can't win.
