No IRC or MSN

I cannot connect to irc or msn this evening...although I was up since yesterday afternoon 14h00 untill 20h10 this evening (a record for Northcliff tower) Anybody else with same problem?

Like I said I was up untill 15min ago and since then nothing...1st time i have problems in this regard, can my firewall cause it all of a sudden?

try unblocking ports 6667 udp and tcp for irc

if your MSN/ yahoo doesnt work try installing www.trillian.cc

Trilian, is good.
But that wont work if msn wont work.
Try webmessenger for themena time

lilg you help nobody with your generic obvious "hints", its a provblem with iburst what he was looking for is people with the same problem so he can diagnose whether its a northcliff or network wide problem

well you dont have a router so he must be talkign about your firewall, he's the thing ares, if it was working before, like yesterday and you havent added any firewall rules since then, then its not your firewall

I've the same problem as you some website either don't show or come up and IRC AND MSN dont work either this has been since Yesterday this Problem EARLY hours of the morning.

My MSN and IRC is working, hotmail website is realy slow.

I do connect says "connection established"....but that is as far as it goes...tried diff. irc programs and servers...all same story.

What I've noticed the past few days is that sometimes I need to refresh or try again to get to websites as first tries seemed to time out.

Not sure if thats your problem but give it a try.

The update has fixed the issue.
Since Im capped now i can MSN, login to hotmail and IRC and see the sites i visit, it was the previous update they did that buggered around with the msn and IRC not all users were affected just spoke to ppl in my base station they had the same problem as me. So it was maybe 3 base stations or so around JHB
