Hi all,

I have been literally fighting with telkom to get a line installed at our complex. There is no line at all(no physical cable running to our place - but there are lines running along side our wall on poles). I was told that i need to get an electrician to drill hole in the wall etc to do the line install before telkom come out. Im not going to pay a technician so was wondering. If you have or know of someone that had to do the same, what has been done? i.e. did you drill straight through the wall or run the telkom line into the roof between the wall and roof?

Ideas would be super helpful as they are coming to do the install on the 1st (hopefully)

Never heard of them not doing the drilling themselves. Its just a hole into the wall that they place an anchor on and attach the line to before running it inside.

You say it's a complex in which case you might need to involve the body corporate, drilling holes in walls for overhead wiring could be a no-no.

I understand it's a health and safety issue.

They're also not supposed to climb into ceilings or to accept any water / drinks / refreshments from clients. This out of the mouth of a technician who recently worked on an ethernet express installation with me.
