Hi guys

Just wanted to get an iBurst PCMCIA modem for personal use, but was informed that they do not have any stock. This is not good for a company where one of its only advantages over ADSL is that they can provide you with near immediate connectivity.

While I am on the topic of iBurst, what is the performance like on the PCMCIA cards?

Regards,

RPM

My guess is that all the stock went to the HiFi Corp branches. Maybe try one of them. As so far as the performance goes, I think the signal quality is probably the only concern, as the antenna is tiny. Also, you'll have to move you laptop around to find your sweet spot.

The main thing is how your signal will be - I have the UTC and have never had any problems at home and that w/o an external antenna. The laptop also works everywhere where I have put it in the house - I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I am considering cancelling my overdue ADSL order and getting larger iBurst package and a UTD to connect to my network at home.

Heya RPM. Currently sitting in Sandton city. Pulling a rock solid 104KB/s for the past 20 minutes or so ... damn nice when the connectivity is good ....

Keep well mate.
