No more social media for kids under 14 in Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill prohibiting minors under 14 from having social media accounts, following similar efforts in other states that have been challenged in court.

The Florida law also requires parental permission for 14- and 15-year-olds to have accounts at companies such as Meta Platforms Inc. and TikTok Inc.

About time. I don't want to see more semi naked 14 year olds in my Instagram feed.

I am not sure if this will be effective or enforceable because most of the parents are children in adult bodies themselves who often over compensate for the lack of parenting through bribing kids through spoiling them, You only have to look at how parents will always side with their kids no matter how wrong the kids are and most of them don't ever bother to check what the kids are doing on their phones.
