But don't they have like, the second most land of provinces in South Africa? Give them land. That's what they want. Let them eat the earth.

The land gets used to farm babies , land as far as the eye can see, in the 80s,90s you used to see fields of mielies etc.
Now its cheaper to buy from closest town and land now lies fallow and unused but they are told they need more land.

R65 million for 1650 employees? , thats like an average of R38K.
Socialism, running out of other people's money one municipality at a time.

This type of thing is going to be the death of the ANC.
Problem is the ANC will blame everyone else and take them down before they go down.

I wonder what effect this has on the local economy. I'd imagine these salaries introduce a fair amount of money into the system, so it must have quite a knock-on effect for local businesses.

Mnyimba said one of the reasons for the financial crisis was low revenue collection. The municipality only collected 25% revenue in the first two quarters of the 2020/21 financial year.
Yet such a high salary bill?

What does your workers actually do all day long? Not collecting, I assume..

It would be very scandalous to send the workers to do revenue collection.

Those workers should find out why the finances are "restrained" and who is responsible for that. They have a budget... what happened to that? I would say this would impact service delivery, but thats nearly non-existent here.

Municipal paid kfc lunches get quite pricey, top priority for annual budgets.

Making people work without pay, isn't that slavery ?
No. That is our suburban view of slavery. It is similar to how some cry BEE is black government apartheid on this forum.

It was generally like this if you google.
