The ruling is very definitely not moot. Yes, no real private entity will appoint her as a director, but SOEs currently still can.

If she is declared delinquent then nobody can appoint her, period. By law if she is declared delinquent and is appointed, the board is not formed.
She still keeps her millions though.

Charge her with contempt and throw her in prison. Of course we all know the ANC will never prosecute or sentence one of their own.

The assumption is that the law is followed. Unless it's revealed in the media for joe public to have an uproar against, irregular appointments happen all the time in sa with the obligatory "oops" when discovered, which needs a commission of inquiry, followed by court procedures, etc, to solve. How many people know all the executives of ACSA, alexkor, or the national parks board? Out of sight and out of mind, weak corporate governance will enable this.

She'll probably appeal when she's declared delinquent. Otherwise she'll have to be removed as director of JZ foundation, and the Mhlathuze waterboard. She's also director of trade and investment in KZN (not sure that's a board position).
Doesn't seem she had money for a lawyer either going by other articles:

Just because she is crooked doesn't make her stupid. She would have salted money off-shore somehow (probably through 'hawala').

This is just one of the standard stalling tactics.

She is on the boards of 13+ institutions. At a few hundred thou per position, she has money.
Of course she has money... that goes without saying, when she is staying at Hotels and drinking wine at the restaurants and all that when she is "sick" and can't get to Parliament.

Advocate Carol Steinberg, legal counsel for the applicants, stated that one of the reasons given by Myeni for her inability to afford legal services was that she had been waiting for a liability insurance claim for SAA directors to cover the costs. It later emerged that the claim was only lodged last week Friday. Other reasons for her no-show include that she is not in a position to pay for petrol or accommodation to allow her to travel from her current home in KwaZulu-Natal to attend the case.
Is this woman for real - she wants SAA to pay her legal costs ?
