NO SERVICE - East London

My wife and I both woke up with our phones showing the circle with a line through (no entry) and no service on our phones. I am prepaid, she is contract direct with Vodacom. I called 111 and they say they will only log a fault if I can provide 5 numbers affected (wtf?!)

I have found 1 Vodacom user at the office next door and he says his is working. This is wierd.....

Any other locals affected?

UPDATE
Took myself off WIFI. Phone still says no service but 3G services work instantly. No service still shows with no voice calls in or out.

3G works while the phone says no service? That sounds off. Have you rebooted or did a manual network selection?

OK, with mobile data disabled (because i am on WIFI) it says no service.

When I turn mobile data on and disconnect from wifi, it then says emergency calls only but mobile data works with full H+

I have:
Rebooted several times
Selected Vodacom Manually
Taken sim out of my S4 and put into my Huawei T1 tablet

All resulted in the same as above

I have found 5 people now - all same symptoms as myself

Ok....everything seems fine on the system. Can also see internet connection going through with some usage this morning. Give me those numbers and the address where you are having this problem please. Let me see if I can log a call for you on the system. With prepaid the system we use is a bit limited, but will try. Also full name and surname and alternative contact number for you if you please.

Im having the same issue in PE - Greenacers area. A couple colleagues the same issue.

EDIT: Seems fixed for the time being but was doing this since 7:00 this morning

Same problem here, at Greenacres and we are busy running a project for a client and I am in deep **** if I can't answer incoming calls :mad:

UPDATE

Services restored my side - received the SMS from the fault Ockie logged and I can receive calls again.....

I'll log a call as well once I get to a phone that works

Asked our corporate group (EC region) and plenty of others are also having the same issue it seems

had this also this morning. (Beacon Bay - East London)

But then did a automatic search for mobile network.
Also went from 3G, to LTE and mine is sorted now.

Shows the 3G, but nice circle with line through it (no service signal)

very strange.

Now that I am on LTE, I am fine. (S5)

Down here too. I see there are folks in the WC also reporting the same thing
