I've been capped since July 27 (first time), and was under the impression that I would at least start to experience some major slowdown in speed by now. I'm still accessing international at very decent to normal speeds as far as I can tell.

How long does it usually take Telkom to change you to a capped ip address? I've been allocated the same address since Monday.

damm you should have kept quite :)

SAIX generates a caping list and submits it to telkom internet who have a script that runs every night [when i was at TI it was a manual proccess and if the new month began on a weekend somtimes you would only be uncaped on a monday ...

saix's BRAS will boot you off after 24 hours and assign a new address some BRAS try allocate the same address but it is time based so it is more likly somthing is wrong than some near impossible coincedence.

the stats on TI traffic tracker are not 100% accurate and unless it has changed since i left telskum internet it is not the data used to cap/uncap

once capped your IP will change to 165.165.<128.x

Still sitting on 165.165.>128.x range. The stats seem wildly inaccurate this month. 500 meg downloads two days in a row, I only download that much when in need of linux distros, which has not been the case this month.

I also was capped at about the same date. However I manged to pull in a further 1.5 gigs before the cap kicked in. I think the IP's weren't reset for 2 or 3 days. This could be the reason. However I was capped afterwards. And this month the Cap is the worst I have ever had. International sites are completely inaccessible. Even local sites are shaky.
I had one month early this year when I was capped where I could browse as normal, but that was the exception. Since then Telkom nails me every time.

The Cap is very unfair in my case as the kids play counterstrike and they consume a high percentage of my bandwidth playing on local servers. Its a rediculous situation. Telkom should be ashamed. One day is one day.

Well they have said that they may at some point exclude local bandwidth from the cap so that would most likely make a lot of people (myself included) very happy. Would probably also quell some of the complaints regarding the cap on the whole, so it may be in Telkom's better interests to do it.
