No SMS in 3G mode - MTN

I'm unable to send SMS in 3G Area but works when i switch my HTC Tytn to GSM. My Phone is Currently on Dual Mode detecting 3G Area... If I put my sim card in another phone then I've got the same problem and it is sending sms to number.

I've spoken to MTN but they don't seem to be able to understand the problem. If there is anyone from MTN in here that can help then please reply to this post....

I have an TyTN II and am on MTN, and even when i am connected at 3g or H, i can still send sms's.

Thanks for the reply. The only error it gives is to say that: "Your message could not be sent".

I'm pretty sure that this is a network error as my settings is the same as my other MTN phone and that one is working. I just hoped that someone from MTN might read this and out of goodwill try and assist.

Yeah, this does sound like a network related issue. I had a problem like this with MMS, where I got that same error. This was because MMS wasnt activated correctly on my account. I requested reactivation and all was fine.

Got a solution from MTN this afternoon...

It turns out that the sms centre number that was on my simcard was for the prepaid customers. There is another one they gave me now for the contract customers and it is now working.

The prepaid one works though on the normal GSM for contract customers also but for some technical reason when you are in 3G it doesn't.
