Hi, can any1 tell the true issues with the navigator, i.e. software, subscription, etc.

every1 tells me something different. Is thr a once of charge to use the gps? is it a yearly subscription?
no extra charges?

I heard there is a 3 month waiting period 4 that phone.

Its very rare thats true.
No real software issues, standard symbian stuff.

Everything is free, from the box pop the battery in, no sim and the GPS works.

I've had mine for ~1month now from MTN. The phone comes pre-installed with Route66 and a RSA map. Everything is activated and ready to go out of the box. All navigation is free. Just make sure you deactivate 'Assisted GPS' - this speeds up the process of locking onto GPS signal by contacting servers - this uses data obviously, which can add up if you navigate alot. <sidenote: There is another dedicated 6110 thread - check it for lots more info>

I see now I was a bit unclear. AGPS actually speeds up the signal acquisition process BUT it uses data. I've never actually used it to see how much faster it is. The time it takes to lock depends on when and where the last time was you used GPS. If you use very often without moving position in between, it locks quickly. Also try go outside before you try to lock.
