I would like to know what you guys think about the E90. The Pros and Cons please.

I'm due for a upgrade and I'm thinking of getting the E90 just because I already have a N95 and I don't think I'll get the N95 8GB because its very similiar to the normal N95 with the v20 firmware installed.

I do like the HTC Touch and TyTN II as well but would prefer to stay with Nokia.

Well where does one start. I cannot add contacts to my Nokia via the phone. When I sms, the phone crashes, the keys rub up against the inner screen (Vodacom still have not resolved this as they stipulated it was the revised Nokia, but clearly mislead me on this point).

On the pro side, ummm, it is a reasonably designed phone, has all the features one would expect of a phone in its range and delivers on most of these seamlessly.

Had an HTC, but the WM OS was more of a pain in the @ss than the Nokia Software (even with its bugs).

Still have to update to latest version of the Symbian Software which hopefully I will get around to doing soon.

Should you get one? Yes, just make sure it is the revised version without the keyboard/screen issue and hopefully software issues.

Piesang,

so much has been written here and on my-symbian about the E90 that you should have a pretty good idea already. I really like my E90 and will not use anything else. It's truely powerful and versatile, and its not as big as it's perceived to be. Some units have problems (as I had with my first unit that was replaced by MTN ... my second unit is going great). I believe much of the negativity is overhyped. The TyTN II is the only real competition for the E90 and I would not dare try prove which one is the better unit. I prefer Nokia as a rule and would probably be biased towards it ... and my E90 is by far the best Nokia product I've had (the replaced unit). The E90 grows on a person and soon one is completely lost without it. Rumours have been around for a long time now that an updated version (E90i) will be released ... but real facts are hard to come by. Maybe you should wait a month or so if you really want the E90 product. If you are in an haste the TyTN II is the way to go. The Touch is a very very nice product ... but no competition for the E90 or TyTN II ... a completely different market focus.

I have an early unit and my biggest complaint is the matrix of blotches that the keyboard has already made on the inside screen.
The GPS on the TyTn II locks on to more satellites and the initial lock (despite A-GPS in the new E90 firmware) is much faster.

Super phone

BodyGlove from Cellucity is a neat cover, but adds a little bulk to the phone. Keeps the phone looking new.

Active notes is great, but does not synch with Outlook. Only the normal Notes feature does. (Active notes allows you to attach multimedia to a note; also, you can link a contact to the note so when you phone the contact, the note is displayed e.g. when you phone your medical aid, you m.a. number is displayed on screen).

Really nice for web browsing on the inside screen. Super screen for GPS, mobile TV etc.

GPS takes a while to load, but is a little faster with the latest firmware. Works a treat on internal screen, with internal GPS using Garmin Mobile XT.

Sad to see that some older appz and games work fine on the outer screen, but cannot use the full internal screen.

Had the N80 and N73 before this - love the phone. Feature wise, nothing can compare, not even some of the newer Nokias.

Oh yes, last gripe - does not have a picture editor to edit those great photos that it takes.

I bought my phone for R6500 cash before leaving SA for Australia - would do it again.
